Tiferes Bais Yaakov - Toronto Orthodox Jewish School

In 1999 Tiferes Bais Yaakov opened its doors in response to the ever changing educational needs of Toronto's growing Jewish community. Specifically, it was recognized that although the Torah itself is timeless, the way in which it is transmitted to each generation will vary. Young women in today's society face a very different set of influences, challenges, and issues than those faced by previous generations. This reality is strongly reflected in the philosophy and attitude taken by Tiferes Bais Yaakov in its approach to chinuch habanos.

Facts & Figures

Tiferes Bais Yaakov started with an enrollment of 20 students and continues to grow year over year.
Virtually all of Tiferes Bais Yaakov graduating students have gone on to study at some of the finest seminaries in Eretz Yisroel.
Tiferes Bais Yaakov has a highly visible Chesed program involving its students in all areas of the Jewish Community.
Tiferes Bais Yaakov prides itself on instilling the joy and excitement of yiddishkeit in all of its students. Seminary recruiters from all over Eretz Yisroel recognize this and acknowledge the unique and strong Hashkafos of the Tiferes Bais Yaakov girls.
Tiferes Bais Yaakov is an Ontario inspected school, which exceeds the Ministry guidelines.
Tiferes Bais Yaakov moves into its new location on Stormont Avenue just east of Bathurst in time for the 2006 -2007 school year.

Our Mission

Tiferes Bais Yaakov strives to instill the joy and excitement of Yiddishkite, and a deep understanding of, and commitment to, Torah, Mitzvos, Middos Tovos, and Ahavas Yisroel in each and every one of our students so that they are fully equipped to function successfully in today's society and become contributing members of their community and Klal Yisroel. This monumental task is accomplished through a strong emphasis on Limudei Kodesh, Midos and Hashkafa as well as academic excellence, thereby producing young girls who are fully prepared to reach their educational, spiritual, and emotional potential within the guidelines of Torah.

The End Goal

Tiferes Bais Yaakov endeavours to develop the potential of each of our girls as an effective member of society - consistently guided by Torah values Torah education is a life-long process of moral and spiritual development. Tiferes Bais Yaakov guides and inspires the maturing adolescent to absorb Torah and Yiras Shomayim in a manner that will have a permanent impact. Our graduates will have the information, skills ,direction and enthusiasm required for continued study, practice, and reflection throughout their lives.
