Community Service

The chesed committee at Tiferes Bais Yaakov, a student-run initiative, offers the students an opportunity to provide assistance to organizations and families throughout our community. Our students spend several hours a week working with special needs children and adults, visiting the sick, playing music at retirement homes, tutoring students, serving as mother’s helpers, and much more.

Community Service

The Ontario Ministry of Education requires a minimum of 40 hours of community service throughout the 4 years of high school in order to receive an Ontario Secondary School Diploma. The students at Tiferes Bais Yaakov go way beyond that requirement. The girls are encouraged to be aware of and understand their responsibility in supporting and strengthening Jewish communal organizations. They are enthusiastic about learning the role they can play throughout the greater Jewish community.
